La Tolteca in Chesapeake

Love it! Fast, good food. I have been going about 3 or 4 weeks now once weekly and I get the Tolteca Burrito. It's always fresh. Loooove their ice [crushed ice]. Chips and dips arrive right as you sit. Place is clean. Good establishment.

Apparently, they've changed owners and staff. Got my order wrong and it sucked. 2 fried chimichangas. And I left one on the plate. I can EAT.....so you KNOW this is funky. Finished with La Tolteca. Done.

Excellent food and very authentic. The salsa and dip are home made. I have been coming here for over 10 year and have never been disappointed. The flan is a "Must Have".

Small place with a big punch in a good way. Staff is very friendly and always smiling. Price is reasonable for the portion of food. Great place to eat with the family or friendly gathering.

Friendly service. Surprisingly fast food for a restaurant but the food looks and tastes amazing not many people but it should definitely be packed wall to wall full of people

I have loved this place for years it's the only lace I go for Mexican food. The chips and two different dips are the best I've had. The service is always personable and friendly. Just an all around great place with great food.

The food here is always great! Been coming to La Tolteca regularly for over 10 years, even after I moved out of the area I still make sure to visit every time I am in town.

This place is a hidden gem. Great place for authentic Mexican, lots of variety on the menu. The prices are good, and the margaritas are really great, too.

This place, up until recently, was amazing. Great food, good service. The only redeeming qualities this place has left are the hosts. The food is okay, yesterday our beans tasted sour and the meat was greasy. And the sangria used to be so amazing, but lately it is inconsistent in what's in it but consistently underwhelming, either too much ice to water it down, or warm and thick with fruit pulp.And the service? The past few times they were friendly enough, but yesterday we got flour tortillas instead of corn, the staff was shouting across the dining room, and our waitress just disappeared after dropping off our food. We werent able to switch out the tortillas and we had to go ask for our bill after sitting around for 20 minutes.No more table side guac (but still table side price), watered down or bottom of the barrel drinks, subpar food, and underwhelming service. We used to come here weekly, but we wont be back.

I freakin love this place! They've got the best steak tacos I've ever had!! tried to make them at home several times doesn't even compare to the goodness that they put out.. service could be better.. GREAT FOOD THO!

Hostesses need to stay hostesses . Not waitresses. Other than that always good. My favorite place . I just wish it was my favorite everytime.

We've tried this place once. The chicken in our food was a little dry but they had an amazing desert with apples and caramel that I don't remember what it was but it was delicious and I haven't seen it at any other restaurant. We have not been back since because of how dry the chicken was but the waiter was nice and helpful.

What has happened!? Menu change, plastic tasting rice, no guacamole salad, fish smelled like rank aquarium water. Husbands carne asada street tacos didn't taste the same as before either. $24 to puke!? Never coming back. So sad, used to be my favorite spot!

The food was amazing. It was delivered to our table hot, delicious and fast. The server was great, he was fast, polite and kept our drinks filled. The store was clean and neat and so were the bathrooms. We can't wait until our next visit!

Want to thank this restaurants poor services because due to it I found a great restaurant.la Padilla is very good and services are great.i sat down at la torteca for 30 minutes without being acknowledged by a waitress.as I sat and watched everyone else be served I gathered my things and left.la Padilla is located in harbor view.a million thumbs down for la torteca.

Excellent place. Probably the nicest sit down place in the area. Very clean with updated fixtures, pleasant lighting and just overall very nice appearance. The staff are very friendly. Most importantly, the food is excellent. My wife and I have been coming here for years.

Nice place to go and bring your family the food is pretty good, ate the shrimp tacos and drank a tasty marguerita.

We went for lunch around noon on Sunday and it was pretty quiet which was great. Quick service, good food, and my girlfriend and I ate til we were full for a very reasonable price.

Seated right away. Dining room area has a TV on the wall. A little dated in the decor and service was slower than expected.

Service and food were terrible. The picture below is supposedly “chile con queso”.

Great place for authentic Mexican food. This place is never crowded, and the service is pretty good. The prices are also reasonable. Highly recommended for a casual date night.

My fork had leftover on it. Is there anything else you to know. Waitress informed that the soda dispenser for Ginger Ale had not been cleaned in about a year.

Had a lunch date with my daughter and the food was amazing. Atmosphere was great. It was late in the lunch hour so some of the tables had not been cleared but were shortly after our arrival. I had shrimp tacos and they were great. Portions were good and service was quick. Will definitely visit again.

LaTolteca has recently hired all new wait staff and hosts. None seem to have any training or experience, and the service has gotten terrible. The food is still ok, but don't expect that authentic atmosphere or good service. It's really disappointing now. This used to be my favorite local Mexican restaurant!

It was awful. I have been going for years and it has changed. We had to ask for silverware the food was luke warm our waitress left to make a delivery. I asked if under new management they said no they were making changes. Well the changes are not for the better. I won't be going back.
